Agencies - Life returns to Big Ben in London, to ring New Year's Eve, announcing the beginning of 2022, after it chimed for the last time on August 21, 2017, before it was temporarily put out of service to be subject to an extensive restoration project.

The Cumbria Clock Company has been cleaning the watch face, chime mechanism and nearly 1,000 clock parts, which weigh about 5 tons and are about 7 feet high for the past four years.

While the name "Big Ben" nowadays refers to the entire clock tower, it is in fact the name of the largest bell inside the tower.

The Big Ben, which is located inside the Elizabeth Tower in the House of Representatives in London, has been keeping time in Britain's capital since 1859.

This is the largest single reform project in its history, costing £79.7 million (about US$107 million).
